Application
Vehicles with front and rear manual disc brakes
Manual drum brakes if used with 10 lbs residual valves
Overview
Pressure is delivered equally out of both ports
Volume is greater from the port closest to the push rod
An adjustable proportioning valve is highly recommended
Aluminum Master Cylinder With Plastic Reservoir
• 1.125″ bore size
• Cast aluminum body anodized for corrosion resistance
• Flange for firewall mounting – 21/64″ holes on 3.187″ centers
• Provisions for side mounting – .390″ holes on 5 1/2″ centers
• 1/2″-20 brake line holes with brass inverted flare seats
• 3/8″-24 x 4.200″ long push-rod
• Push-rod locking grommet
• Dust boot to protect piston bore
• 1/2″-20 brass inverted flare adapters for 3/6″ brake line
• 3/16″ brake line nuts
• Two firewall reinforcing plates
• Two 5/16″-18 x 1.75″ bolts
• One 5/16″-18 x 1.25″ bolts
• Three 5/16″-18 nyloc nuts
Reinforcing Plates
• Minimizes deflection of aluminum firewalls
• Stiffens OEM firewall mounting location
Recommended Pedal Ratio
• 6.5 to 1
Check Front & Rear Brake Pressure Before Using Vehicle
Silicone brake fluid is not recommended
Street – Factory Front Disc with Rear Drum
• Requires smaller bore master cylinder – B3360
Street – Factory Front and Rear Disc Brakes
• Requires smaller bore master cylinder – B3360
Street – Aftermarket Disc Brakes
• Consult the manufacturer for their recommendations
Drag Racing
Strange One or Two Piston Front and Four Piston Rear
• Requires smaller bore master cylinder – B3360
Drag Racing
Strange Four Piston Front and Four Piston Rear
• Plumb the front calipers to the outlet furthest from the push rod
• Plumb the rear calipers to the outlet closest to the push rod
• Mounting below caliper level requires 2 lbs residual pressure valves
Drag Racing
Strange Dual Four Piston Rear Brakes – No Front Brakes
For Hand Brake or Brake Pedal
• Plumb one left hand and one right hand caliper to the same port
• Plumb the other left hand and right hand calipers to other port
• The port selection isn’t important in this application
• Install 2 lbs residual pressure valves in each line
• A preferable master cylinder option is a B3362
Drag Racing
Strange Dual Four Piston Rear Brakes – No Front Brakes
For Both a Hand Brake and Brake Pedal
Where 4 calipers are used for holding and 2 calipers used for stopping
Can also be to use as a emergency brake system should an issue occur
Two single master cylinders are required
Fast Fill Master Cylinders are a great option – B3362
Drag Racing
Strange Four Piston Front and Dual Four Piston Rear Calipers
One Line to the Front Calipers and the Other to the Dual Rear Calipers
Use two single master cylinders with dissimilar bore sizes
May also use two Fast Fill Master Cylinders – B3362
These systems are more complex as they require balance bars
• Do not use rear calipers with low drag O-rings
• Plumb one left hand and one right hand caliper to the same port
• Plumb the other left hand and right hand calipers to other port
• The port selection isn’t important in this application
• Install a 2 lbs residual pressure valve in each line
• This minimizes volume requirements by limiting piston retraction
• Brake pad wear may increase handle/pedal travel
• Ensure to periodically check brake fluid level
Drag Racing – Other Manufacturers
• Consult the manufacturer for their recommendations
