That’s where the Strange Engineering Chevy 12-bolt heavy-duty drag race rear differential comes into play.

By integrating expertly welded F-Body mounts for the chassis and torque arm, the Strange 12-bolt rear end provides a heavy-duty alternative to the weaker 10-bolt units found in most F-Body cars and light-duty trucks. This durable Chevy 12-bolt rear end may also be purchased with no mounts or with leaf spring mounts to fit other high-performance applications.

The Strange GM 12-bolt rear end is available in any state of completion from a bare housing to a fully built differential (for certain popular applications). Race Axles (33 or 35-spline) and axle tubes may be ordered in factory length or custom made to accommodate your wheel and tire setup. Axle tube ends are also available in various designs to meet your requirements. Wheel studs are offered in your choice of .500-inch or .625-inch diameter and numerous bolt circle configurations. Gear sets and axles may be selected in standard or Pro Race and complete Strange 12 bolt rear ends come with a chromed steel cover (aluminum cover available), S-Series pinion yoke, and pinion yoke u-bolt set. Strange Engineering rear disc brake packages are sold separately.

The Strange Engineering team of skilled rear differential engineers are here to help you (if needed) determine the best gear ratio to get you out of the hole quick and through the trap at top speed. Once you have selected a gear ratio, a new bearing set is installed, the pinion gear is set in the housing and the carrier (with the ring gear) is setup. Preload is secured, the axle bearings, axle seals, and axles are expertly installed.
